This series consists of two movements of oil paintings on wooden panels.
When I began the first movement of this series, I was just at the end of a long tunnel of personal grief and reckoning. This series was both reflective of the steps I had already taken in my journey and became the steps I needed to take.
The first movement is reflective of what came before while the second imagines the path forward. The pieces of the second movement hold tension between the unexamined present and the hoped-for future.
Without the advantage of hindsight reflection, stages of the second movement are less thematically concise but tap into the glimmers of what was becoming true and what was dreamed could be true.
